And for this reason a man will leave his father and mother and unite with his wife, and the two will become one.’ So they are no longer two, but one. No human being then must separate what God has joined together.” Mark 10:7‭-‬9 GNB

Myles Munroe defines marriage as a process, a fusion of two distinct and different elements into one – a sparkling jewel of love, faithfulness, and commitment that shines brightly in a world of short-lived fads and impermanence.
Marriage by its nature is designed to reflect the one who created it, the Godhead is perfectly united. Through marriage, a husband and wife are joined together to become one and nothing should ever pull them apart.

Without this oneness, it is impossible to realise the purposes of God for our marriages. The Lord commands his blessing where there is unity. A united people are unstoppable and whatever they set out to do is achieved.
But the Lord came down to look at the city and the tower the people were building. “Look!” he said. “The people are united, and they all speak the same language. After this, nothing they set out to do will be impossible for them!Genesis 11:5‭-‬6 NLT

Two are better than one because they can help each other succeed: they can encourage one another, lift up one another, pray for one another, challenge one another, sharpen one another etc
Do your best to preserve the unity between you and your spouse. Let no man separate what God has joined together.
